Journey of a lifetime

One day while walking through the Himalayas, I looked up and there sat a little old man. "Climb up here young lady and I will share with you the secrets of life." So I climbed the mountain and sat next to the old man.
"First, see the speed at which the earth moves, it moves at the proper speed. Do not make the world move faster or you may miss out on what life has to offer. Do not drag your feet or the world may pass you by.
Never miss a chance to laugh. You will be offered enough times to cry.
Do not go looking for things you can not find. Instead enjoy what you are offered.
There are large and small people in this world, you can learn from both. Never dismiss anyone. Remember the only way you can increase your size is through someone else's eyes. If you look down you will always see your own feet. Always reach down to help someone else, but do not be offended if they do not accept your help, some people insist on staying small. Life is too short for falsehoods and deceptions. Don't just look for truth, look for those who also seek it."
After hearing this wise man speak, I had a question. "Sir, what of love? I thought love was supposed to be the answer to all of life's questions"
The old man looked at my face and smiled. "Yes many people believe it is the solution to all of their problems, but love can be a selfish thing. It is better to give it freely and liberally and expect nothing in return. Some will always find its way back to you. Do not ask for it or it may be elusive and always just out of reach."
I took the old mans advice to heart, but have not stopped trying to find wise men from which to learn.   Everyone has something which I can learn from.
